Warranties for Roof Replacement and Repair
If you are comparing contractors for a new roof, it helps to understand how workmanship and manufacturer warranties fit together. Start with our roof replacement Wichita page for the broader replacement overview.
HD Roofing workmanship warranty
HD Roofing offers a lifetime workmanship warranty on roof replacements. Before work begins, ask for the written warranty applicable to your project, including covered work, exclusions, conditions and the process for requesting service. For a repair project, confirm the coverage for the specific work being proposed.
Manufacturer warranties
Manufacturer warranties are separate from HD Roofing's workmanship warranty. Coverage depends on the selected product, qualifying installation and the manufacturer's written terms.
GAF describes a 25-year StainGuard Plus Algae Protection Limited Warranty for Timberline HDZ shingles. Its WindProven Limited Wind Warranty is available for qualifying installations with required GAF accessories. Eligibility, coverage periods and exclusions matter; a product name alone does not establish your roof's coverage. Review GAF's Timberline HDZ product and warranty information and confirm which written warranty applies to your installation.
Insurance and warranty are different
Will a roof claim affect my premium?
Ask your insurance agent or insurer how a claim could affect your policy and renewal. HD Roofing cannot guarantee an insurance rate or a claim outcome.
Could I pay more than my deductible?
Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your policy, coverage limits, deductible and the approved scope. Confirm any excluded work, upgrades or other costs with your insurer and contractor before proceeding.
How does depreciation affect payment?
Actual cash value coverage accounts for depreciation. Replacement cost coverage works differently, and payments remain subject to your policy's terms and deductible. Ask your insurer whether depreciation is recoverable and what documentation or deadlines apply. The NAIC's guide to actual cash value and replacement cost explains the basic distinction.
